Here are my three little monkeys! Actually, a white tiger, Mariposa (Barbie thing), and a white-tail deer. Thank you Grandma Schiebel for making such beautiful costumes again this year!
Kaedyn the white tiger.
Kaybre as Mariposa.
Kreed the white-tail deer. (He shed his antlers early.)
We went to the Grider Family Farm Pumpkin Patch on Sunday. It is about 30 minutes away from Cushing. All of the schools take trips out there and we've made the trip every year as a family too. It is a giant farm with a giant real live pumpkin patch-unlike any "pumpkin patch" we've ever visited. So neat to see all of that land covered in pumpkins. Here are a few of our pictures from our trip Sunday. Our friends Jonathan and Ashly joined us as well.
Searching for the perfect pumpkin.
This one is Kreed's size.
Pat the pumpkin.
Kaedyn found the perfect one for Kreed.
He liked it too. Look Mom!
Kyle's perfect pumpkin.
Kaybre's perfect pumpkin. (Although she changed her mind several times.)
Kaedyn just wanted one she could carve and that was green.
We also searched for the perfect gourd in a separate gourd patch. We found it!
Jonathan also spotted the perfect pumpkin. It may be the Great Pumpkin. I think he was pretty excited. :)
Well, here it is. I finally figured out how to get a video on here. Hope you enjoy it! (Jordan is a girl that goes to church with us and got Kaybre the job.) :)
Kaybre got to be the flower girl at the Homecoming Game tonight. She has been very excited and has been counting down the days until Homecoming. Finally it arrived and she did great. Here is a slide show of some of the pictures. Enjoy!
I made a cake yesterday for our small group friend's birthday. It started out great. Finished it around 4pm. But before 6pm it started to rot. :) The top 2/3 of the cake was just too heavy and by the time I got it to our small group it looked like it had been sitting on the front porch a little too long. It was still goooooood. It just looked more authentic I guess. :) This is a before rotting picture. You can already tell it was starting to lean.
Kaybre had show and tell on Tuesday. And she was in charge of snack that day too. (Bananas.) She wanted to take her beloved brother Kreed. It's funny because Kaedyn took Kreed about 2 years ago for her show and tell to the very same classroom. He must be something special!
Kyle left yesterday evening to go to South Africa for two weeks. He was invited to speak at the Southern Africa Bible College lectureship. After the lectureship he is going to a retreat for the youth and speaking there. He will be very busy. I don't have any pictures this go round but much is happening this week so stay tuned. Please keep Kyle in your prayers as he is preaching the Word and is away from his family. :) I am including a clock that shows the time in South Africa just for fun.
Kyle and I got to go to the last American Idol tour show in Tulsa on Friday night with our good friends Kris and Larry. It was so much fun to see all of those people that we followed all through the season. Our seats were great! (Perfect for a little zoom camera.) It was amazing to see the range in ages of the people that came. Lots of great grandma and grandpa looking people. Some right in front of us. They didn't stand very often and they brought their binoculars. But I think they still had a great time. I almost wish I had hearing aids so that I could have turned them off during the show. The screaming was unreal. Still, it was a blast and I hope we get to go again someday. :) And maybe even take the kids.
One day Mr. Turtle thought about getting a job. He went to the Water Park he asks for a job BUT they say NO! So he went home and swam his own pool. Then he went to the Artists house he asks for a job BUT he said NO! So he went home drew his own picture then he went to the Book Shop. He asks for a job BUT he says NO! So he went his house and made his own book. Then he went to the Book Shop and shows it to him and it was called Mr. Turtle wants a Job and then… HE GOT A JOB Hurray! He says. THE END!
This is a story that Kaedyn wrote this summer. Kids are able to write and share their stories at school by putting them in the library. (There is a special shelf just for these.) She came home and decided to type it all out. It took her about an hour to type the whole thing. She was very proud and couldn't wait to take it to school. She really wants to have it published. Maybe someday!
