Backpack, Backpack

Kreed has done alright in the mornings when we all load up and take the 5 kids to school. They all get their backpacks and head out to the car. Well, Kreed has started saying "backpack" when all of this is going on. I've had a small backpack that we keep in the car with emergency clothes and diapers, so I brought it in and now he can carry his backpack out with the rest of the kids. He did that this morning and was so proud of himself. He looked awfully cute in his pj's and backpack. (These pictures I took later on.)

And Then He Was a Beautiful Butterfly

Kyle found a caterpillar about a week and a half ago and brought it in for the kids to see. Kaedyn had earned a bug box during the summer reading program and so we put the caterpillar in it along with some leaves. He ate and ate for about two days. And then suddenly hung himself from the lid. And within a couple of hours, turned into a chrysalis. Just over a week later, (yesterday), we had a beautiful butterfly fluttering about in our bug box. We took him outside to let him go. But he took his time and flapped his wings for a while. It was so neat to get to do that. I remember doing that as a kid but with a mason jar.

A Barrel O' Monkeys

These pictures were from last month at camp. I just couldn't keep them all to myself. They had sooo much fun that day. What a way to cool off!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school. Kaedyn started 2nd grade and Kaybre started Kindergarten. Hard to believe my baby girls are so grown up. :(
Aunt Amy, notice the Croc Flops!

Happy Birthday Kaedyn!

8 years old! Kaedyn celebrated her 8th birthday on August 12th. We had a full day of celebrating. First we went to Build-a-Bear. Some of our closest friends joined us: John, Tad, Skye, and Hunter. From there we went to Chuck E. Cheese. That evening when we got home, 4 little girls came over for a slumber party. Though tiring, it was a great day. Happy Birthday Kaedyn!

To Be Rapunzel or Not to Be Rapunzel

Kaybre decided about two months ago that she wanted to cut her hair. I told her we would wait until school started. So today we went to get her hair cut. She looks so grown up.

So Proud

Kreed got some new shoes. I tried to buy him some camo crocs. But he wouldn't have it. As soon as he spotted the cars there was nothing else to consider. I tried the camo crocs on first and he wouldn't even walk in them. And then he pointed out the car crocs. I put them on him and he pranced around the store. He was so proud of them. So I gave in and bought the boy what he wanted. He'll wear them anytime. He got out of the bath the other night and went straight for his shoes. He didn't even have a diaper on yet.

He also got a new shirt. We saw the movie Wall-E when it came out. He enjoyed it. And the girls have gotten him to say "Wall-E." He doesn't talk a whole lot yet but he clearly says "Wall-E." It's pretty cute. Well, we found him a shirt. And once again he is so proud. He points at it and squeals out "Wall-E."

Pierced Ears

So Kaedyn has been thinking about piercing her ears for well over a year now. And she finally got up the courage to just do it. But she wanted to have her cousin Kelsie there with her. We were all in Holdenville this past weekend for a Gospel meeting that Kyle was preaching. So on Sunday afternoon all of the gals (Mom, Kaybre, cousin Kelsie, Aunt Kami, Grandma Wright and of course Kaedyn) and cousin Nolan went to Wal-Mart to witness the big event. No one knew what to expect as far as a reaction out of Kaedyn goes. But she came through with green jewels in her ears and not a tear to be seen nor a squeal to be heard. :) She did great! She was so brave. And they look sooooo cute!
